Tillotson Carburettors – Powering Drivers to Victory
OK Junior Final
The OK Junior final saw a thrilling race at the fast and technical Campillos Kart Center. The race distance was 16 laps, with 36 drivers having qualified for the final from an initial entry of 93.
Starting from pole position, William Kia (# 70, Australia, Forza Racing) made the decision to switch to the outside of the grid. However, the start saw CRISAN ILIE TRISTAN (# 35, Canada, Tony Kart) make a fantastic move from the second row to take the lead. Despite an early slow procedure to clear an incident, Crisan maintained his composure after the restart.
Ilie Trisan drove a superb race, managing his tyres well in the hot conditions. Despite pressure from behind, he held on to take a well-deserved victory.
• First Place: CRISAN ILIE TRISTAN (# 35, Canada, Tony Kart) – A fantastic drive saw Ilie Tristan take his first Champions of the Future final win.
• Second Place: Dean Hoogendoorn (# 92, Netherlands, Prier Racing) – A valiant effort from Dean saw him secure second place.
• Third Place: William Calleja (# 70, Australia, Forza Racing) – After starting on pole, William fought his way to a podium finish in third.
OK Senior Final
The OK Senior final was contested over 19 laps and proved to be an eventful race with several retirements. Christian Costoya (# 256, Spain, Parolin Motorsport) started on pole position alongside Joe Turney.
Despite Joe Turney initially getting the jump at the start, Van Langendonck took the early lead. However, Christian Costoya, the junior champion from the previous year stepping up to the senior category, showed impressive pace. He made a decisive move to take the lead and then controlled the race from the front.
• First Place: Christian Costoya (# 256, Spain, Parolin) – A brilliant performance all weekend culminated in a dominant victory in the final.
• Second Place: Kenzo Craigie (# 277, United Kingdom, Prma Racing) – After a good drive, Kenzo secured a strong second-place finish.
• Third Place: Iaccopo Martiness (# 211, Italy, Kart Republic) – Martinese fought hard to claim the final step on the podium.
Tillotson Carburettors On the Podium
Tillotson carburettors were used by five of the six podium finishers. Although the winner of OK Junior was not using Tillotson, 8 of the top 10 drivers chose our products in the junior class.
Champions of the Future Round 2 will take place in Portimão, 23 to 26 of April.
