The third round of the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship at Motorsportarena Mülsen was defined by volatile weather and significant post-race penalties that reshaped the podiums across all categories. Heavy rain disrupted the finals, leading to slippery track conditions that caused multiple incidents and, in the OK category, a red flag that ended the race prematurely.
In the OK final, the battle for the lead intensified as the track became increasingly treacherous. While Niklas Schaufler initially crossed the finish line first, a subsequent penalty for causing an incident demoted him to fifth place. This decision handed the victory to Zac Drummond, who had maintained a strong performance throughout the weekend. Meanwhile, championship contender William Calleja suffered a race retirement after losing a side pod, further shaking up the title standings.
The top two finishers in the Senior OK category were P1: Zac Drummond (GBR) and P2: Oliver Kinnmark (SWE) both using Tillotson carburettors
The championship now moves to its final round in Kristianstad, Sweden, next month.
