Kiltorcan Raceway Hosts Annual KT Cup

The KT Cup at Kiltorcan Raceway delivered a full day of competitive racing on Sunday, 22 March 2026, as drivers across five T4 categories battled under changing weather conditions that shifted from cloudy skies to bright sunshine. The event featured dominant drives, last-lap battles, and impressive comeback performances across the Bambino, Mini, Junior, Senior, and Senior 168 categories.

Bambino Final – Last Lap Decider

The T4 Bambino final produced one of the closest finishes of the day. Emerson Hannan led the opening six laps before Daire Fitzgibbon launched a late-race move to take the lead on lap seven. Fitzgibbon held on to take victory by just 0.172 seconds, with Hannan finishing second and Danny Clancy completing the podium in third. Fitzgibbon also set the fastest lap of the race with a 1:08.245.

Mini Final – Harney in Control

Jack Harney delivered a commanding performance in the Mini final, leading every lap from pole position to secure victory. Harley Brereton finished second, while Billy Greene completed the podium in third. Harney’s pace was unmatched throughout the race, and he also set the fastest lap with a time of 52.499.

Junior Final – Claridge Jr Secures the Win

The Junior final was one of the most competitive races of the day. Diarmuid Claridge Jr started from pole and fought throughout the race with Senan McLoughlin before retaking the lead on lap 10 and holding on to win. McLoughlin finished second and also set the fastest lap of the race with a 52.420, while Ben O’Keeffe secured third place after staying within the lead battle for the entire race distance.

Senior Final – Wilson Charges to Victory

In the Senior final, Briain Wilson drove a strong race to take victory after starting third on the grid, making his move for the lead on lap 12. Jake K-Brunell finished second and set the fastest lap of the race with a 52.198, while Joe Bechtold completed the podium in third after an impressive drive through the field, gaining seven positions from his starting position.

Senior 168 Final – McBride Dominates

The Senior 168 final saw a dominant lights-to-flag victory from Peter McBride, who controlled the race from the start and also set the fastest lap with a 53.017. Stephen Brett finished second, with Niall Hurson completing the podium in third after a consistent drive.

Greatest Improvers

Some of the standout performances of the day came from drivers making their way through the field. In the Junior category, Jack Fingleton climbed from 14th on the grid to finish 4th, gaining ten positions, while Pierre Carnet gained ten positions as well, moving from 16th to finish 6th. In the Senior category, Joe Bechtold gained seven positions to finish on the podium in third place.
