Kiltorcan Raceway played host to a spectacular day of racing on Sunday, 9th March 2025, with the KT Cup delivering exhilarating action across all categories. From the youngest Bambino drivers to the seasoned Seniors, the event showcased impressive skill and fierce competition.
Tillotson T4 Bambino: Future Stars Shine
The youngest competitors in Tillotson T4 Bambino class provided a captivating display of karting prowess. PJ Bowes (Race No. 109) emerged as the victor in the final classification, demonstrating consistent performance throughout the day. Danny Clancy (Race No. 105)* secured a commendable second place, having shown impressive speed with a fastest lap of 1:10.688 in the final. Daire Fitzgibbon (Race No. 104) rounded out the top three. Congratulations to all the young Bambino drivers who took to the track, showcasing their enthusiasm and budding talent! Competitors included PJ Bowes (109), Danny Clancy (105), Daire Fitzgibbon (104), Emerson Hannan (106), and Ollie Conneely (107).
Tillotson T4 Mini: Harney and Claridge Battle to the Wire
Tillotson T4 Mini category witnessed a gripping final, with Jack Harney (Race No. 642) ultimately claiming the top spot. Harney demonstrated his pace throughout the event, consistently featuring at the front and setting the fastest lap in the final with a time of 54.156. *Diarmuid Claridge Jnr (Race No. 208)* put up a strong fight, finishing a close second and achieving the fastest lap in both Heat 1 and Heat 2. Evan McCloughry (Race No. 670) secured third place, showcasing consistent performance in the heats and the final.
Tillotson T4 Junior: Kearney Masters the Competition
In the Tillotson T4 Junior final, Joey Kearney (Race No. 306) drove an exceptional race to take victory. Kearney showed strong pace throughout the day, qualifying well and ultimately securing the win. Ben McCloughry (Race No. 373) finished a close second, having also demonstrated impressive speed throughout the heats. Joey Kearns (Race No. 310) missed out on claiming the third step with an unfortunate bumper penalty. Eddie Somers Jr ultimately took third place.
Tillotson T4 Senior: Burke Takes the Crown in Tight Finish
Tillotson T4 Senior final provided a nail-biting conclusion, with Keith Burke (Race No. 410) emerging victorious. Burke set the fastest lap of the final with an impressive time of 52.924. Aaron Coogan (Race No. 401) finished a very close second, having shown strong pace in qualifying and the heats. Tylor Brereton (Race No. 406) secured third place, demonstrating consistent speed throughout the event and setting the fastest lap in Heat 1 and Heat 2.
Tillotson T4 Senior 168: Hurson Dominates
Nial Hurson (Race No. 501) proved to be the class of the field in Tillotson T4 Senior 168 category, taking a commanding victory in the final. Hurson consistently set fast lap times throughout the day, achieving the fastest lap in Qualifying 1, Heat 2, and being credited with the fastest lap in the final. Kyle Kavanagh (Race No. 507) finished second, having set the fastest lap in Qualifying 2 and Heat 1. Eddie Roche (Race No. 505) secured third place.
