This weekend marks the concluding round of the Tillotson Ireland Karting Championship for T4 Series classes. It has been an exceptional year for Tillotson T4 categories, characterized by thrilling racing and heightened competition, resulting in record-breaking grid sizes.
Similar to the IAME classes, some drivers have already been crowned the Champion for 2025. Let’s analyze the standings class by class:
T4 Bambino
The championship showdown will come down to the wire, with Robby Lyons and Danny Clancy locked in a tight race for the title throughout the season. Currently in third place is Ollie Conneely, who will need to fight hard to hold onto his podium position.
Victories have been well-distributed among the competitors, with Lyons securing two wins, Clancy one, and additional victories for Rian Spratt, Emerson Hannan, and Daire Fitzgibbon.
T4 Mini
Diarmuid Claridge Jr. has been outstanding this season, clinching four out of six victories, making him the favorite for the 2025 title. Harley Brereton has pushed him fiercely all season, demonstrating impressive speed and improvement. Currently in third place is Culann McMahon, who has also shown remarkable progress alongside many talented T4 Mini drivers.
Brereton and Jack Fingleton each have one victory apart from Claridge’s four, and everyone will be striving for another win this weekend.
T4 Junior
The T4 Junior category has provided exhilarating racing all season, showcasing a fierce battle between Joey Kearney and Eddie Somers Jr.! Heading into the final round, Kearney holds a slight edge with three victories compared to Somers Jr.’s two. Billy Clancy, another race winner this season, currently sits in third place and will be aiming for another victory this weekend.
This class has boasted the largest grid, and we can expect another 34 drivers competing this weekend.
T4 Senior
Aaron Coogan has delivered an impressive campaign, winning five out of six rounds and securing the T4 Senior title for two consecutive seasons—a remarkable achievement in a highly competitive field! Currently in second place is Northern Ireland’s Luke Palmer, followed by Warren Russell in third.
Special mention goes to Tyler Brereton, the only other race winner in Round 2. With Coogan opting to sit out this weekend’s event after clinching the championship, the competition is wide open, and everyone will be eager to earn those final points.
T4 Senior 168
Reigning Champion Niall Hurson leads the rankings heading into the weekend, holding a comfortable advantage over Kyle Kavanagh and Colm Munnelly. However, dropped scores could play a role, as Munnelly has a poor score to account for, bringing him back into the mix.
Hurson has enjoyed a strong season with three wins, while Munnelly has two, and Eddie Roche claimed the other race victory in Round 4. With some local drivers returning to the 168 category this weekend, the competition is set to intensify, promising an exciting final race.
